Top business ideas for start-ups
With the current trend of successful start ups in Nigeria, one can now confidently look into the future and know what kind of start-ups would most likely yield positive results. Nigeria has so many business ideas and opportunies and these opportunities when grabbed and critically looked into, other Business ideas could be generated as leads which would see one a successful entrepreneur in the next few years.
While there are a couple obvious ideas, did you know that just by looking around, you could still and also find so many other business ideas and opportunities currently hidden to a lot of people? Also did you know that by studying existing businesses, one can possibly develop modified ideas of so many Nigerian Business?
Today, let's look at 5 Business ideas I have studied and learnt of from my observation in Nigeria that currently does not have too much attention and which start ups can actually implement to witness successfulness. If you're planning to launch a start up but do not know what exactly to do, consider these.
1... Poultry Farming
Poultry is one of the most lucrative businesses ever, no wonder one of our ex-presidents Olusegun Obasanjo largely invested into it and now, obviously he's reaping. One good thing about poultry farming is that it doesn't require too much capital and materials to start up. On the average, a small scale poultry start up could commence with between 30 to 50 birds while a large scale poultry farm could have as much as 10,000. The major advantage of poultry farming is that besides its meat provisions, eggs are laid multiple times a day by different birds which means that there is an all round provision for money via sale of these eggs. Dungs from these fowls are also being bought by farmers for manure and fertilization purposes.
2... Agriculture
Agriculture has so far been one of the few Businesses in Nigeria yielding over 100% of its original investment capitals. Agriculture also does not require too much funding for a start up, with a capital of at least N150,000 and a land or few plots of land, a practical farm could be started and profits even increases more with the higher capital invested. You may have to take a little survey around to know what farm products are most needed and when they are on highest demand, understanding that most farm crops have active and inactive seasons. Presently Tomato and Onions are of very high demands, almost unavailable and unpriceable in the market. So now is the very best time to commence a tomato farm in Nigeria because the prices of tomato and it's demands doesn't seem like it'd be going down anytime soon.
4... Yoghurt and Ice-cream
There aren't too many yoghurt factories around in Nigeria and even if there are, only few are experts. Launching a yoghurt factory is a million-dollar business idea which can be brought to reality. Most yoghurts I've personally bought and tasted besides Fan yoghurt are really nothing to write home about which means that many yoghurt makers in Nigeria are substandard or do not have enough knowledge for it. Well, I can actually teach you how to make yoghurts in practical steps, feel free to contact me if you need my services. I only charge a little anyways. It is quite true that almost every information can be found on Google, but believe me there are still secrets to so many things, google has enough theory anyway but to master the practical art of yoghurt making for instance you'll need a real life tutoring, so if you decide to commence this, search around to find suitable and best yoghurt makers who you can pay to obtain this knowledge.
5... Powder detergents
Liquid soaps are all over the place already, there are so many brands of liquid soaps made in Nigeria as can be seen in the open market, however not too many people have discovered the lucrativeness and profitability of powder detergents. Do you know that some single persons consume over 2kg of powdered detergents every week in washing their clothes and families even consume more? And did you also know that most people prefer powder detergents over liquid soaps and only use liquid soaps for washing plates, sinks and toilets? OK so I just made you know! Starting up a powder detergent production is a nice start up and would see you making it big in the next few years. However, I must advise strongly that you deliver quality products, find the best place to pay and learn this production business, it's practically unlike any other.
Imagine, you could be selling over 100kg in just one week for a start if you have active customers and since there aren't too many similar competitions besides OMO and Ariel, you are very much good to go!
Best regards
